Martha and I want to thank you for our time away during the month of July. You are very gracious to offer us this time and to insist that we take it.

We know that as the month goes along we will also look forward to our return. I will continue to communicate with you during the month through this article each week.

I am excited for the opportunities you will have to hear new people and to be ministered to during the month. You know that you will be in good hands from our pastoral team. You will also be in good hands as you hear those who will be leading during the month.

This weekend (June 30-July 1) we are thankful to have Ron Deal talk with us about the family. He will touch us all with his sermon title, “When You Have a Less-than-Perfect Family.” Sunday afternoon (July 1) from 3:00-6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall he will lead a seminar entitled “Becoming Stepfamily Smart.”

July 7-8 will be a time of patriotic music led by the FBC Orchestra, Choir, and Worship Arts Pastors Benji and Jenna Cowart and special speaker Buddy Wood.

July 14-15 Dr. Rick Brewer, President of Louisiana College will speak.

July 21-22 Dr. David Hankins, the leader of Baptists in Louisiana, will be our guest speaker.

July 28-29 Bill Fay, author of “Share Jesus Without Fear,” will be preaching in all services and will lead a seminar to help us learn to share our faith. The Seminar will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00-5:45.

As always, I will be keeping up with the congregation and praying for you and your family. We will look forward to seeing you Wednesday, August 1.
