Saying Goodby to the Cowart Family

Today marks the last week with us for the Cowart family. We will miss Benji, Jenna, Braden, Kyndall, Zac, and Maisy.

As you know they will be returning to the Nashville area. It has been a good two years, and I want to say to everyone what a wonderful time we have had.

Benji and Jenna will always have a special place in our hearts for so many reasons.

From the point of view of the entire church, they will be missed and deeply appreciated because they helped us end services in what we now call Central Hall and begin worship in our new Worship Center. They were just the right people for “such a time as this.”

They also were so helpful in getting David and Sara Logan and their family to FBC. We marveled and thrilled at how well Jenna, Benji, and David pulled together for the work of the kingdom. They were great examples of team work and the power of the gospel. Together they have put us in a new place as we anticipate the future.

We have begun the process of finding new leaders for the 6:00 pm Saturday service and the 11:00 am Sunday Service. While we have many decisions to make, we feel very comfortable with our present format. We do not plan to change the format as we look for new leaders.

Please be in prayer as we move forward into God’s wonderful future.

  1. While I am truly saddened by the Cowarts’ departure, I am deeply grateful for the time they have been with us and how they have led us in authentic, robust and Spirit-full worship. It is my deep hope that having “tasted and seen,” we will engage another “leap” forward worship leader(s).

Yesterday ‘s 11 AM three song opening worship set was so powerful! I appreciate the design and flow that allowed us to build to the exaltation of the name of Jesus. Such worship needs to be modeled, taught and given adequate time. That said, Sunday’s sacrifice of praise produced a fragrant aroma as we experienced God’s glory together.

May God richly bless Benji and Jenna and their family in Nashville. May He continue to lead and draw us here into richer and richer worship.

I am grateful to FBCCOV leadership for bringing them here and thank God for their giftedness, transparency and impact for the Kingdom.

Praise God from Whom ALL Blessings flow!
