I have a deep affection for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

New Orleans Seminary brought me to Louisiana. Martha and I thought we would be here just long enough to finish our Master’s degree and return to our home state. We had no idea what the future held.

At New Orleans Seminary I met some of the greatest people I have ever known, both students and faculty. For seventeen years I taught on that faculty as well.

Today in our church over 25 students attend NOBTS either at the seminary or at Leavell College. We have at least nine seminary faculty families in our church.

For all of these reasons and more, I am pleased to introduce to you the new president of New Orleans Seminary, Dr. James Dew.

Dr. Dew is eminently qualified to lead New Orleans Seminary. He has led a college for the past several years. He has been a pastor and an administrator. He has two Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

Dr. Dew has an amazing story of hard work and God’s blessings. It is a story of how God makes all things new. It is a story of what God can do in our lives and how we can help others experience that same redemption.

Today, we welcome Dr. Dew and his family. He and Tara have four children, Samantha and Samuel age 11 and Natalie and Nathan age 9.
