“Blessed be the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3).
Over the last week, Ephesians 1:3 has become the passage of Scripture I have memorized and meditated over.
I have come to love and appreciate the wonderful significance of this powerful passage.
What does it tell us?
First, you and I and all believers have all we need in Christ Jesus. We have “every spiritual blessing.” Since I have recognized what this has said, I am living differently. I recognize I am not without power. I am no longer under the influence of hostile spiritual forces or my own old sinful nature. Now, I have every spiritual blessing. It is time that I begin living in this power.
Second, all of our blessings are “in Christ.” Through Christ, God our Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
While we were once “in the world,” we are now “in Christ.” To be “in Christ” is to no longer be in the world.
Third, our blessings are in the “heavenlies” or “heavenly places.” This phrase is peculiar to the Letter to the Ephesians. Paul uses it to refer to the spiritual realm. God has given us exactly what we need.
As I have dealt with people and their problems over the years, I have noted that almost every problem is at its core a spiritual problem.
When we seek God and His guidance, we will find that we can live in the best way possible.

When reading this, my mibd jumped to 1 Peter 1:4, where the apostle speaks of “very great and precious promises” that are available to deliver us from the workd’s corruption. It syncs well with your scriptural focus, I think.
It was great meeting you at the associational meeting Tuesday night. I had a need whwre I applied the Nehemiah thought about “the good hand of God” that worked for this humble cupbearer, and saw an incredible answer to prayer! Thanks for sharing that sermon.
