Our ReGathering

Beginning Memorial Day weekend, May 23-24, we will begin re-gathering for worship at FBC Covington. Like you, I am extremely excited to meet together again with the family of God.

Our church pastoral team has been preparing for weeks for this day. We are ready for you, and we are anxious to begin the process of bringing the church back together for ministry and worship.

Being ready means we have evaluated almost everything we do to make sure it is both effective and safe. I think you will be pleased with the cleanliness that you see and the cleanliness that you can’t see.

One of the things that we will do is sanitize after each service. That will necessitate moving the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service to 9:00 a.m. This time change will probably last until we are able to have connect groups and children’s classes on campus.

Here are three things you need to know:

1. We really want you to come, but we really want you to assess your situation and make a good decision about attending. I encourage you to pray about this decision.

We will continue live streaming on Wednesdays and on the weekends. It will be the same quality experience that you have had over these past two months. Please continue to watch and please continue to invite other people to watch.

2. Memorial day weekend is only the beginning of the process of re-gathering the church. We fully anticipate beginning small and growing large.

We will continue to do what we have always done. We will preach, pray, minister, and witness of our faith. Many people will know Christ through this time.

3.Our way of doing ministry will change—it has to—but our hope, faith, and love will not change.

  1. I assume you will continue having your worship leaders sing. Will the gathered congregation also sing? Will anyone be wearing masks?

  2. I can’t wait. I heard someone say last night that church has never been closed, we have only been deployed. I loved that!
